Al-Hidayah 2004

This residential retreat organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran International Glasgow was the first of its kind in the UK for British Muslim youth which attracted more than 150 young people from across the UK. This was the beginning of Al Hidayah residential retreats.

In the traditional Iqra Academy in Glasgow the 3-Day Spiritual Camp has been the attraction point for many hundred students and brothers and sisters from all over UK. The camp started on 20 August 2004.

The 3-day camp is taking place in the Iqra Academy, which is a school and has beautiful building located in the heartland of Glasgow. After the registration the Jumah prayer took place in the Khazra mosque, which is one of the biggest mosque of Glasgow.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered the Friday talk in which he gave the introductory lecture on Ash-Shifa and Tasawuf. Many hundreds of local people benefited from the powerful talk of Shaykh-ul-Islam.
After the Friday talk, NEC General Secretary Hafiz Sheeraz Elahi delivered a welcome speech to all the participants and explained the purpose of camp as well as the etiquettes. After that the first a joint presentation as part of the workshop by Shaykh Ramzan Qadri, Shaykh Sohail Saddique and Shaykh Naeem Tariq Qadri on Practical Plan for utilising the books of Shaykh-ul-Islam took place and presented a brief summary of all the books of Qaid-e-Inqilab.

After that the first English talk of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri took place after Salat-ul-Isha on Dars-ut-Tasawuf in which he spoke specifically on the topic and meaning of Iman and Ihsan. He recited different chains of narrations of Ahadith and also explained in detail the riwayah and chains, which he has received from his Shayukh. The talk of Shaykh-ul-Islam was over 4 hours and everybody was spiritually very motivated. The day ended with lesson from Shaykh-ul-Islam`s book Al-Kan-Al-Thasmin read by Shaykh Ramzan Qadri, Mehfil-e-Zhikr and Salat-ul-Fagr.

Next morning on Saturday the second workshop on the Ideology and philosophy of MQI started by Nazim-e-Alha, Dr Raheeq Abbasi, DFA Director Dawood Mashadi, NEC Vice Secretary, Abdul Qadeer and Jawed Iqbal Tahiri.

After Salt-ul-Isha Shaykh Abdul Aziz Ahmad Fredriks, a renowned Shaykh from Glasgow delivered talk on Tasawuf in the presence of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri who also requested Shaykh-ul-Islam to give him special Ijaza on Ash-Shifa. After that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri spoke on Ash-Shifa of Qadi Iyad as well as he made special clarifications for the youth about the true Iman, the extreme love for the Beloved Prophet SWS.

The workshop with group discussions related to the previous workshop headed by young group co-ordinators started to discuss the issues relating to IMQ, Tehreek and Shaykh-ul-Islam after the Salat-ul-Asr.

After the Salat-ul-Isa, Shaykh-ul-Islam delivered special talk on Tasawuf on Ghuniya Tut Talibeen until Tahajut Salat.
