Al Hidayah 2010Programme:
"Al Hidayah 2010" is a unique and one of the first anti-terror camps in the UK. In his uniquely enthralling style Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver a series of ground-breaking lectures examining contemporary issues faced by the Muslims especially those in the West such as Terrorism, Suicide Bombings, Jihad, Khilafah and their clarifications based on the recent Fatwa on Terrorism. By the end of the series, you will no doubt come away with a greatly enhanced appreciation of these concepts as THE religion of peace, love, mercy and knowledge, as well as gaining clarification of your role within wider society. Shaykh-ul-Islam will corroborate his opinions using the prime reliable sources of Qur’an and authentic Hadith, along with beautiful illustrations from the lives and works of the pious and sagacious predecessors and classical Imams. There is arguably no other person who can combine the classical works and relate them to the modern age as Shaykh-ul-Islam. In addition to the main body of lectures, each of our eminent scholars will enlighten the audience as they, in their distinctive styles, speak about their specialist subject areas.
Question and answer sessionsThere will be special question and answer sessions for though who wish to question classical scholars about the key issues our youth is facing today such as jihad, suicide bombings and extremism.
Workshops and discussionsWorkshops covering various subjects such as jihad, Khilafah and integration will be held at certain times for those wishing to attend. Workshops will involve the participants to engage and discuss solutions and how to prevent extremism. PresentationsCapturing the uniqueness of the Islamic world, Peter Sanders will display his inimitable photographs in an extraordinary presentation. Music/Nasheed evenings
A heart rendering supplication imploring Allah’s forgiveness and seeking His guidance will mark the end of this three day spiritual retreat. Sports activitiesLeisure facilities are available for use. The lecture theatre has been newly refurbished, costing a staggering £6.9 million. Seating up to 1500 people, the theatre lays claim to advanced acoustic and technical equipment including screens which will be used to display on-screen notes throughout the lectures.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for all participants. A choice of continental or cooked breakfast will be available along with a two course buffet lunch and a three course buffet dinner. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is a man of manifold and staggering achievements. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is the founding leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), an organisation with branches and centres in more than 80 countries worldwide, working for the promotion of peace and harmony between communities and the revival of spiritual endeavour based on the true teachings of Islam. Shaykh-ul-Islam was born on February 19, 1951 in the historical city of Jhang, Pakistan. The son of a great spiritualist and intellectual of his time Al-Shaykh Dr Farid-ud-Din al-Qadri, Shaykh ul Islam was educated from a young age in both the Islamic and secular sciences simultaneously, imbued with the belief that his entire life would be devoted to the renaissance of Islam. Although he had already started his religious education under his father two years earlier, his formal classical education was initiated in Madina al-Munawwara at the age of twelve under the tutelage of the Great Medinan Scholar, Al-Shaykh Zia al-Dīn al-Madani (RA), who lived for over a hundred years.
In 1972 he earned his MA in Islamic Studies achieving a Gold Medal at Punjab University, and subsequently completed his LLB in 1974 whereupon, he began to practice as a lawyer in the district courts of Jhang. He was also a member of the Syndicate, Senate and Academic Council of the University, which are the highest executive, administrative and academic bodies of the University. He is a former Professor of Islamic Law at Punjab University and the youngest person ever to have been awarded a professorship in the history of the University. Shaykh-ul-Islam is a prolific author and researcher. He has authored around 1000 books of which 400 are published works in Urdu, Arabic and English. He has given authority to transmit Hadith to some of the world’s greatest scholars and has lectured extensively throughout the world to audiences of millions. While thoroughly grounded in the classical tradition of Islam, his learned instruction and creative interpretation of the religion provide refreshing perspectives on the role of Islam in the contemporary world.
Shaykh Asad Muhmmad Saeed as-Sargharji, Syria
Shaykh As’ad Muhammad Sa’eed al-Saghārjī is a highly reputable and learned Scholar, Shaykh As’ad Muhammad Sa’eed al-Sāgharjī was made Patron of Al-Hidayah by his Eminence Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri and is a regular contributor to the event. The Shaykh is acknowledged as one of the leading contemporary Hanafi jurists of the Arab world and spent many of his formative years as a scholar, teaching Classical Islamic Sciences in the mosque of the Prophet (sallallāhu alay’hi wa ālihī wa salam), in the blessed city of Madinah al-Munawara. Shaykh As’ad Muhammad Sa’eed al-Saghārjī is a prolific author and has produced a number of notable works, including the classic work, al-Fiqh al-hanafī wa adillatuhū, a comprehensive manual on Hanafi fiqh, which along with the Shaykh’s other famous works such as Shu’ab al-īmān, Sayyidunā Muhammad Rasūlallāh (sallallāhu alay’hi wa ālihī wa salam), Zawjatun-Nabī (sallallāhu alay’hi wa ālihī wa salam) and Hajj wal-‘Umra are readily taught as study texts in many famous Arab universities, including the renowned Al-Azhar University in Cairo. One of the Shaykh’s most prominent teacher’s was the distinguished Syrian scholar, Al-Shaykh al-Sayyid Ibrahīm al-Ya’qūbī (RA), descendent from the family of the Prophet (sallallāhu alay’hi wa ālihī wa salam). The Shaykh has a number of chains of transmission (Ijazāt) linking him directly back to the founder of the Hanafī Madhab, īmām al-A’zam Abu Hanifa Nu’mān ibn Thābit (RA). As well as being an exalted jurist the Shaykh is also a spiritual guide and an adherent of the famous Shāzalīyya Arab Sufi order. He is presently the Grand īmām, khatīb al-A’zam, of the famous Jāmi’a Masjid al-Umawī (the Umayyad Mosque) in Damascus, Syria, presiding over the 9 permanent īmām’s. The Shaykh has enjoyed a notable career teaching the sciences of Islam throughout the world and visits the UK to attend Al-Hidayah, in order to expound the true Islamic concepts of peace and security to the youth, as well as to portray a true picture of Islam, as a religion of peace and one that encourages integration and serving society.

Peter Sanders is internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading photographers of the Islamic World. The uniqueness of his work remains unmatched by any photographer in his respective field.
